Operation Hero

A mentoring program started by the ASYMCA in March 2000 that not
only improves self-esteem and grades, but also allows children to
find there are “heroes” inside each of them. The program,
which runs for 10 weeks three times a year, targets children from
6 - 12 years of age that are experiencing temporary difficulty in
school, either socially or academically. Referred by teachers, parents
or school officials, the bi-weekly sessions provide after-school
homework assistance and mentoring in a small group.
Baby Bundles - top
This program provides a layette for new mothers who are active duty,
E-4 and below, and for the dependent spouse of an active duty soldiers
E-4 and below. The layette includes a blanket, socks, baby suit,
sleeper, gown, book, baby wipes, laundry soap and a medicine spoon.
The program supplies approximately 1,500 bundles each year.
Operation Kid Comfort

This program entitles young children (0 to 5 years old) of deployed
active duty soldiers to receive a free photo-transfer quilt bearing
photos of his/her family. It also provides photo-transfer pillows
for children 6 to 12.

Star Spangled Quilters

The Star Spangled Quilters meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each
month from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. They share techniques, ideas
and lunch.

Classes are held at the Junior Enlisted Family Center Monday and
Friday from 6:00-7:00 PM for ages 4-adult.
Fit Kids - top
A class for parents and children 18 months – 5 years; teaches
children at a young age how to live a healthy lifestyle by participating
in fun activities.
Bible Study - top
6 week sessions studying different topics/books
Klassy Kloset - top
E-5 and below can borrow formal wear for free; E-6 and
above rent wear for $10
